Met Gala. The Best….
The most glamorous night in fashion did not disappoint last night, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York held the Met Gala hosted by American Vogue editor Anna Wintour who raised the ticket price this year from $10,000 to $25,000!!
Old school elegance was the theme of the evening, putting last years punk theme straight to bed with an official theme of ‘white tie and decorations’. Now obviously there is always those outrageous celebs who look more like mutton than Monroe however there was some beautiful ensembles and some of my personal favorites were….
Victoria played it a little safe, yet did elegant lines and minimal to perfection with just a few pieces of Jacob & Co diamonds and a dress from her personal collection. However the pinning point of this couple was definitely Mr Beckham himself, who quite frankly could look good in a black bin bag! His sleek matching tonal suit complimented Victoria and made him a dashing individual complete with rugged stubble and signature quiff. Yet i do wonder… with all that money why are Victoria’s hair extensions so awful???
B and Jay z.
This showbiz twosome did not disappoint in the glamor stakes, complete with beading and diamonds. Jay z showcased a superior figure in an excellent tailored two piece accompanying Beyonce’s extravagant low cut beaded ensemble which looked extremely heavy yet graced her curves beautifully! The veiled headpiece gave a mysterious feel to the dress and her dark lipstick stood out from the crowd of pretty monochrome. Can this fashion duo ever get it wrong?
Blake Lively accompanied by equally handsome husband Ryan Reynolds.
Its safe to say Blake has come a long way since her gossip girl days, looking breathtaking in a Gucci Premiere gown with fitted perfectly and complimented her tanned American skin. Her simple yet sophisticated perfectly waved hair complete her Hollywood look coupled with a handsome husband on her arm made her the belle of the ball.
This golden beauty teamed her glowing skin with a fitting muted gold lace design by Diane Von Furstenberg completed with golden hues make up and a chic up do proving she can do no fashion wrongs.
This young star defied her immature age by wearing this beautiful wine creation complete with matching lipstick and smokey make up. Accentuating her fabulous figure the gown made the star look mature and elegant with a low cute neck line and fitted body.
My favorite look of the night by far was this Kardashian clan beauty wearing a custom Topshop nude fishtail gown that fitted her silhouette like a glove. Big hair and simple accessories allowed Kendall’s natural beauty to shine through, showcasing her savvy style in contrast to her reality star sisters. This model has come a long way since her geeky days on the famous Keeping up with the Kardashians and is now a respected catwalk model. Topshop proved a big hit with models attending the Met Gala with accompanying pals of Kendall’s also looking incredible in custom Topshop.
